This project in Ponta Delgada seeks to integrate the house into the rhythm and scale of the city, establishing a direct relationship with the Atlantic light and with the local materiality. The architectural language is clear and restrained, allowing the dwelling to assert itself discreetly while maintaining its own identity.
Inside, simplicity and functionality are prioritised. Natural wood and light finishes create bright and welcoming environments, where each space is designed for everyday comfort. The articulation between landings and different levels introduces fluidity and continuity, ensuring a practical and harmonious living experience.
The selection of materials highlights simplicity and a close connection with the local context. Whitewashed plaster and ceramic roof tiles reinforce continuity with the built landscape, while natural wood brings comfort and identity to the interior spaces. This combination ensures a balance between tradition and contemporaneity, resulting in a home adapted to the present yet rooted in the character of Ponta Delgada.
